As much as I hate it, this quarter i was forced to do some cartooning, so i figured heck, may as well throw that up here. I really dislike cartooning because of the simplicity of them, i prefer realistic detailed stuff, but this was new and kinda fun.
We had to create a character for this class, and seeing as how i usually draw skilly normal looking people, i decided to go totally away from that and draw some fat guy. This was actually inspired from my brother, except that he isnt fat. This guy's name is "Brat" as you can see, and the premise of him is that he's some 18 or so year old kid who still acts like a 3 year old. My brother isnt 18 either, he;s about 14 now, but he still acts like a little brat. Anyway, this guy was kinda fun to do because of all th squashing and stretching i could do with his face especially, which i also don't do very much. Lastly,we had to use a quill pen to do this, so as you can see, that damn thing gave me some trouble..

More Brat, this one we had to do different things to out character. Had to make him a baby, drunk, and old man, an inatimate object, and an animal. This was very tricky.. but we also had to do 3 roughs for EACH thing. so 3 roughs for the baby, drunk, etc etc.. that got boring, fast. This this is the final, i'm not going to scan in those roughs.

Now HERE was a project i realllllly hated, taking a famous person and making them into a kid. Especially since the teacher changed it on me, from making them to a kid, to making them into a bay. So i actually had to re-do all these except the bottom left. Can you guess who it is? I won;t say just yet.. We had to do 4 roughs, then take one and blow it up to a big full sized rendering. This was all done with markers, and by the way, thats suppose to be Tom Cruise.

Here's that full sized rendering, still done with marks and all that stuff. The rough face looks more like him than this one does.. but oh well, you can't erase markers. He's holding that jet because it's suppose to be a F-14 Tomcat, and he flies a TomCat in the movie Top-Gun. Get it?

This little freak show's name is "Twitch" And i called him that because he looks really calm and dosile.. and first.. but if you piss him off.. (which is very easy to do) he flips out and goes totally psycho! He was fun to make, i gave him very weird featured, like block hands and feet, but even so, i can still have fun with him. I havent decided if i'm going to use him for my animation of not.. might be fun..
I had a teacher in one of my classes who made up all these alliteration phrases for us to do, like this one an "Anxious Ariel Acrobat" Not much to say about this one, i like the angle of it though. The backround and such looks like crap, but hey, it's just a sketch
Heres a "Crested Crocodile with blue jeans with a flat footed duck billed platypus " And we had to put them in some environment, so since the croc needed blue jeans, i thought maybe it would be good to have him kinda hanging out in an alleyway, so i made the platypus hanging out with him too. And since he was just hanging out in an alley, i decided to make him smoking too. Just sorta of a casual thing. But i really like how it came out. One thing though.. this was a "crested" croc.. and for those that dont know.. they dont exsist.. I DIDNT know, so i spent a day searching, til i finally gave up and asked the teacher where to find out.. she just laughed and said they dont exsist.. i have to make it up.. i didnt think it was so funny.. -_-
This here is a "fericious frazzled field rat" and i think it looks pretty good huh? The construction lines are still on there, where i draw the joints and stuff.
"bow legged bullmoose" is this one. It's okay i guess.. he needed a "bull" thingy like frogs have around the neck, and the bow legged.. well thats just weird looking. ah well, it's decent.
This is a.. "near sighted knock-kneed noctural nitwit" It's.. well what can i say, it's weird looking! i swear.. my teacher was on crack when she came up with these names..
