A few different drawings of the same character for a friend.
And here we have a finished piece, before it would be colored.
Much more detail than the others previously, and thats all because he actually paid me for this one, and it was designed from the start to be more thana sketch.
He sent me lots of reference pictures for this, which he grabbed off the net at various sites. I
m not going to post those here, but they were all very useful in reaching the final result, especially with the sword. The whole things was designed to look how he might be if he was waiting for a spar, which is his traditional pose, leaning against a tree with a cigarette.
But, he was extremely happy with the result, and might have me do more in the future!
He wanted to change up the pose though, and make it a little more "macho" like. Sort of if he was ready for a fight.
Originally, I was going to do this second one for 20 bucks, but it took so long to get that, I eventually just gave it to him for free.
It wasn't so bad though, because later on he hired me to do another drawing. A much more detailed one but still just a sketch.
So we started out with 3 possible poses, and he picked one from that. Which ended up being the second one. Personally though, I like the first. It has much more attitude in my opinion, than the others.
Each one took about 5-10 minutes to sketch up.
The first one was done back around 2001, and was just a sketch, because for the most part I don't mind doing sketches for free.
