Community Reload is an awesome event from the minds of HTM|Minion and |HM|Unhinged that is being run by some of the finest people in the UT2k4 community. The purpose is to gather many good players and have them help out the lesser ones through a number of different classes and so forth. This extends all the way from basic UT techniques likes dodging and such, all the way to just being a better player with good sportsmanship.
Besides helping as a player, I designed all the above graphics for the event.
I was fortunate enough to have one of my ideas for a name, picked as the event title. This helped me because I already started forming ideas in my head for some cool logo designs as I was dropping down names. So for Community Reload, I went through a few different designs, but really wanted to get an old style war propaganda to it. After drawing up some concepts, I took it through Photoshop and created it pretty much entirely with paths.
The concept is that the game UT is like a weapon. Us vetran players have used up much of the ammo in the weapon.. we need new players. So we pass down are ammo to the new players get into the game. Ammo representing our skill and knowledge to pass down. In doing this, will will build a bigger, stronger, and better army. Also, I really wanted to play off "helping hands". Originally just using that logo and sticking an ammo cartridge in the top hand.. but that was lame. And not original enough, so that idea was scrapped =P
